Laurie Del Bel: Project Manager
Closet Type-A who manages projects with pinpoint precision and no-holds-barred determination
Laurie Del Bel, a savvy project manager with a musical name, has managed technology projects in the interactive realm for over 15 years. She has worked in many industry sectors, including financial services, consumer packaged goods, and technology (including mobile). A closet Type-A, her clenched jaw is evidence of her determination to complete projects on time, on budget, and with all objectives met. She holds a bachelor degree with a major in communications—where she learned how to talk, text and instant message simultaneously.
Laurie may appear laid back but in reality her mind never rests. Even leisurely book reading gets full Gantt chart treatment—where she subjects every character and plot twist to a complete work breakdown analysis. A glass of red is an opportunity to apply project management’s critical path methodology, with its focus on activities (drinking), duration (short) and dependencies (where is the corkscrew? Does this go with fish?). And when she’s not cuddling up with a good book or sipping fine wine, she puts her gaming cap on—and has been known to kick some serious butt.
