Wanted: Web/Graphic Designer

Thrillworks is looking for an intermediate web/graphic designer with proven web experience to work at our offices in Burlington. That’s right…Burlington. If you are looking for the opportunity to awaken each morning before the sun rises, or to sit in traffic for hours every work day, this job is not for you. If on the other hand you enjoy having a personal life while at the same time earning a competitive salary, well then you just might be interested in reading further...

Our top 10 reasons why we need to talk to you:

10. You have experience creating high-quality design work for web and multimedia applications. We don’t have a minimum number of years of experience in mind. After all, we will be expecting you to produce tons of awesome designs within the span of a year of working for us!

9. You use words like ‘whitespace’ and ‘kerning’ in casual conversation regardless of the weird looks people sometimes give you. (It’s okay, we understand.)

8. You love the internet. You surf the internet. Your family thinks you spend way too much time in front of that infernal computer, and don’t you even THINK about bringing your laptop on vacation! Sorry, I digress...

7. You can espouse the principles of human-computer interaction, but haven’t forgotten the fundamental importance of human-human interaction.

6. You are well-versed in the keyboard shortcuts for Photoshop, Illustrator and Dreamweaver, and know what the acronyms HTML and CSS stand for. (We won’t expect you to know what .jpg and .gif actually stand for... like THAT is important!)

5. You have at times been considered somewhat anal about your insistence on ‘naming’ layers.

4. You are confident in your ability to communicate through design – even when what you are communicating may not be something that usually interests you. Been there... done that! Right?

3. You thrive on a fast-paced, friendly atmosphere that requires you to juggle multiple tasks at once. We don’t require *actual* juggling skills, although extra consideration may be given to those who can display an aptitude for some sort of ‘stupid-human-trick’.

2.You’ve been described using terms like “proactive”, “self-starter”, “motivated” and “team player” in the past.
(Hint: good words to add to that resume you will send us.)

And the number one reason why we NEED to talk to you is...

1.You are honestly and truly COOL with working in Burlington!

Some other skills we are looking for in the ideal candidate:

  • Proven ability to juggle multiple projects/tasks
  • An understanding of branding and online marketing space
  • Excellent time management
  • Self-starter
  • Proactive
  • Genuine passion for the online space
  • Continuously upgrades their knowledge of industry trends

I'm Interested...

So, if you are sitting there thinking “whoa…this is uncanny, it’s like they read my mind”, don’t fret. We *did* hire that guy from ‘The Mentalist’ to write this posting because we knew you were out there. Having gone to this considerable expense to find you the very least you could do is to please submit your designed PDF resume with samples of your online work to careers@thrillworks.com with the subject line: “Thrillworks Web/Graphic Design opportunity”. Don't forget to examine who we look for in a colleague.

Like we said... WE NEED TO TALK!

We thank all interested applicants; however, only qualified candidates will be contacted.
